Fire starter sticks made from resin-rich heartwood of old pine trees (fatwood), cut into sticks for easy carrying. The resinous wood ignites easily, burns long and hot, and is hard to blow out in the wind.
Thanks to the resin, the sticks are somewhat water-resistant and work well as tinder and fire starter in damp conditions.
